SNCF Réseau extends its GSM-R radio infrastructure
Sogetrel Group has been selected by SNCF Réseau to continue the GSM-R radio coverage of its railroad lines. A way to complement the private means of communication used by SNCF agents through a secure communication network.
Radio, one of our areas of excellence
Sogetrel’s radio experts have won several contracts to cover the SNCF Niort-Poitiers or Serqueux-Gisors railway lines. These contracts concern the construction of new infrastructure towers and GSM-R equipment, a wireless communication standard based on GSM that allows trains to communicate in conference mode with traffic control stations and driving, traffic and maintenance agents.
This technology also includes support for innovative systems applications, such as ETCS, which simplifies train operation and makes signaling smarter and safer, while reducing the costs of installation and maintenance of fixed infrastructure.
Our role includes the supply of equipment (pylons, shelters, energy bays, antenna systems…), as well as the realization of civil engineering, along with the study and design phases of the sites.
« We are very happy and proud of SNCF Réseau’s renewed confidence in one of Sogetrel’s areas of excellence, that of radio. For us, winning this new contract is a sign of the recognition of our teams’ know-how, both in the field of radio infrastructure deployment and in the very specific field of work in the railway environment. »
